Prior to your child going for his or her first ride on kota triceratops, an adult will need to prep KOTA. The enclosed instruction booklet makes it easy to snap his tail in place and secure his furry coat over it.

Once the batteries are in, you just turn on KOTA's power switch to "Play" or "Music" mode and start having fun. In music mode, he will play four different dino adventure theme songs when a child is sitting in the seat. 10 different sensors help this triceratops respond to your youngster's actions.
When you feel KOTA's nose with your hand, he will "smell" it. Kota loves kids tickles on his belly or chin, they make him "laugh," and when you feed him by putting an object in his mouth, he responds by munching on it.

There are touch sensors in his three horns, on his tail, and on his two sides. A sound sensor in KOTA's forehead helps him know when your child is "talking" to him and he will return  a dino greeting, and a weight sensor in his back ensures that he knows when there's a rider to entertain.

He has a realistic design with soft, kid-friendly features  His green and brown Triceratops looks scaly and realistic from far away, despite the fact that his hide is soft, furry, and kid-friendly. And his wide, blinking eyes combined with the way he wiggles his horns and tosses his head make it seem like he has a personality all his own.

Your child can play with Kota alone or with his friends.  They will dream up all sorts of escapades into the prehistoric past.  Kota is a sturdy toy and the hidden handle will help prevent your child from falling off.

There are lots of varieties of toys dinosaurs to choose from. There are T Rexs - some modelled on the original version - others like Barney the purple dinosaur where imagination overrides any resemblance to the original reptile.

There are triceraptops, camarasaurus (you can see why Land before time renamed all their characters!), sauropods etc

Toys dinosaurs can be both educational and fun. Steven Spielberg and Don Bluth made a fantastic film called Land before Time which uses dinosaur characters to explore family relationships, feelings etc.

My older son loved the Barney sing along toy and used to carry it around with him everywhere we went. I even managed to get him to eat some vegetables by pretending to feed Barney and also by pertending that Barney was sad as his owner wasnt eating properly. And my son believed me! He has grown out of Barney now but the green eyed monster sometimes rears his head when his little brother plays with Barney!

The TV series is based around four characters, Max, Rex, Zoe and Dr Mike who are determined not to let the dinosaur cards and hence control of the dinosaurs into the hands of the Alpha Gang. The kids team up with the dinosaurs to try and stop the spread of evil. Zoe's dinosaur friend is called Paris which is apt given Zoe's love of shopping!
